There are several regional stereotypes widely seen on television:
- Scottish: shown to be quite aggressive and violent, money obsessed, wear kilts and drink a lot of beer.
- welsh: often shown as living in the countryside
- Irish: often shown as living in the countryside, very religious
- English: often shown as racist, obsessed with beer and football, rich, posh and royal
- Londoners: there are two stereotypes of Londoners. the first being posh, rich, snobby and upper class. the second being poor, common, lower class, criminals and violent
- Essex: often shown as being glamorous but cheap, footballers wives, lots of partying and being quite stupid
